Within a digital roadshow, German Mining & Resources Network invites you to get to know eight Raw material competence centers as well as get useful insights from our experts at the German Raw Materials Agency (DERA) and German Trade & Invest (GTAI).
Join us for our second webinar as we journey to Australia, diving deep into the innovative projects and partnerships shaping the nation’s future.
Australia is a mining powerhouse, supplying nearly half of the world’s iron ore and lithium ore. The country is also rich in copper, gold, and aluminium, particularly alumina (aluminum oxide). Despite the current market oversupply leading to many nickel mines being put into voluntary care and maintenance, Australia remains a key player in nickel production. Additionally, the nation hosts numerous projects at various stages of development for other critical minerals, including rare earths and cobalt.
The local Competence Center for Raw Materials and Mining will present their critical minerals screening study for the electric battery industry, a project they have been working on for the past two years. Focusing on lithium, nickel, and cobalt, this study provides detailed insights into future developments in the sector.
We invite everyone interested in this topic, especially German buyers of battery materials and other critical minerals, as well as mining suppliers with an interest in Australian offtakes.
The event language is English. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
Registration is open till Nov 26th, 23:30 CET.

The network supports German companies with questions about raw material security and supply, searching for projects and business partners, as well as market entry. The network is coordinated by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and politically supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
