Central Asia's Gem: Exploring Kazakhstan's Critical Raw Materials

The German Mining & Resources Network invites you to the next webinar of its Digital Roadshow. Our journey through Central Asia continues! On February 20th at 08:30 CET, join us as we explore Kazakhstan's immense potential.

Kazakhstan, a resource-rich country, boasts a mining industry that significantly contributes to its economy, accounting for around 17% of the GDP. In 2022, Kazakhstan and the EU initiated a Critical Raw Materials partnership to enhance the resilience of raw material, battery, and renewable hydrogen supply chains.

The country produces 19 of the 34 critical raw materials listed by the European Union. Manufacturers from Kazakhstan currently supply the European market with metal and chemical products, including beryllium, tantalum, titanium, phosphorus, and ammonium metavanadate, as well as potentially can become a significant source for lithium, cobalt, nickel, and further rare earth metals.

As the largest economy in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is Germany’s most important trading partner in the region. Both countries are keen on deepening their strategic ties, underscoring Germany’s need for reliable resource access and Kazakhstan’s ambition to diversify its economy.

Join us on this journey along with representatives of the Competence Centre for Green Energy and Raw Materials at the AHK Central Asia. We look forward to your interest and questions!

The event language is English. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.

Please register by February 19th 23:30 CET.
After that, you will receive a confirmation email with the dial-in link.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Vladimir Gerasimov (gerasimov.vladimir@dihk.de).

We look forward to your participation!

You may ask questions throughout the entire event in the chat, as well as address them to the speakers during the Q&A session.

The network supports German companies with questions about raw material security and supply, searching for projects and business partners, as well as market entry. The network is coordinated by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK).

The network is politically and financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
