Central America is a region that is often less known to German companies than other parts of Latin America. Wrongly so, because the countries between Guatemala and Panama, which together with the Dominican Republic form the economic union SICA, offer very good business opportunities for trade and investment: good regional integration, open markets and a strategically favorable location characterize the countries of Central America.

Since 2012, the Latin America Initiative of German Business (LAI) has been organizing business conferences together with partner organizations in Germany and the embassies of the Central American countries.
